Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is a global celebration of love and romance. Lovers often spend the holiday on romantic dates or surprising each other with gifts. Traditional gifts include heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, flowers, and balloons. Others also make personalized cards for an extra thoughtful touch.
The holiday isn't exclusively for couples, as many people get together with friends to have fun. For example, people celebrate Galentine's Day, a version of Valentine's day that celebrates friendship instead of romantic relationships. Galentine's Day typically includes exchanging gifts, baking heart-shaped treats, and going out to eat with friends.
Heartwarming festivities have also found their way to OHS. This Valentine's Day, OHS Student Government brought e-bouquets for all students to send and receive. Students could send kind, personalized messages to their friends or teachers attached with an e-bouquet. Each e-bouquet had their own meaning:
Orange Tulip: Connection and Friendship
Cornflower: Beauty and Grace
Red rose: Love and Romance
Gardenia: Secret Love
White Dandelion: Strength, Hope, and Perseverance
These e-bouquets encapsulate the true meaning of Valentine's day: to celebrate your loved ones. Quality time, thoughtful gifts, and loving words are all wonderful ways to communicate your love and appreciation.
