Intro to the 2025-26 Student Government

Piper Whittenburg ‘27 - Student Body President

Hey y'all! I'm Piper, a junior this year, and your Student Body President. I've been in Student Government every year I've been at OHS, and each year has taught me new things and granted me with wonderful experiences! Academically, I love the classics and languages as a whole, and outside of school I perform in theatre as often as I'm able!

Fun fact: Despite having enjoyed creative writing since I was six, I have yet to finish a first draft of a book. I really, really hope this is outdated information by the end of this year, but no promises.

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: Encourage as many young SG members as possible to embrace their passion and keep working! The ExComm team I worked with in my first year of Student Government inspired me so much then and still does to this day, and I don't think I would be nearly as involved in Student Government if they hadn't been so accepting and encouraging. I hope to be that person for someone :)

Sadie G. ‘27 - Student Body Vice President

My name is Sadie, and I’m honored to serve as Student Body Vice President. Outside of school, I enjoy dance, gymnastics, and creative writing. Academically, I like just about everything as long as it's taught well. I’m deeply interested in disability and neurodiversity advocacy, and I hope to guide Student Government to make OHS more accessible and inclusive for all. You can always reach out to me with questions or just for someone to talk to. I mean it! I used to hear people say this, but I still felt hesitant. You totally can reach out just to say hi.

Fun Fact: I have a quirky love of data and spreadsheets! If you work with me on Student Government, you will definitely see this side of me at some point.

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: I hope to leverage my platform on Student Government to further accessibility at OHS. I work closely with two student groups that advocate for accessibility, and this is something that should be a part of the conversation at this school. A large percentage of our student body (>10%) lives with a disability, and I hope to bring this perspective to the table in all of our Student Government discussions.

Dawn Zhu ‘27 - Board Chair of Communications

Hello! My name is Dawn Zhu and I am a junior based in Texas. Within school, I am deeply fond of mathematics and its various branches. Outside of my academics, I enjoy different dance forms, reading, and gardening.

Fun Fact: Somehow, I've managed to never pull an all nighter before in my life.

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: By the end of my SG term, I hope to have accomplished everything my predecessors have achieved and more. This includes adding more interactive and informative announcements on upcoming events and also programs to help both new and old students connect within our OHS community.

Justin Guoji ‘26 - Board Chair of Events

Hi! I’m a senior from San Diego, CA, and I currently serve as the Board Chair of Events. I’ve always loved creating opportunities for people to connect and enjoy shared experiences, so organizing school events has been one of the most rewarding parts of my time in Student Government. Academically, I’m most drawn to chemistry and engineering with an emphasis in biomedical technologies. Outside of school, I train and compete in martial arts, including Muay Thai, Taekwondo, and MMA, which constantly challenge me to stay disciplined, focused, and adaptable.

Fun Fact: I was actually born in Palo Alto, just a few miles from Stanford campus, so it's always fun coming full circle every time I visit campus with OHS :)

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: To foster stronger community engagement through inclusive events and improved student communication that reflect the diversity of our community, as well as bring more OHS alumni to events as guest speakers!

Inaya Dar ‘27 - Board Chair of Arts

Hi! I’ve been at OHS for four years, and I’m currently a junior. I live in Houston, Texas. I obviously love art—my favorite mediums are watercolor and charcoal. My favorite subject is math, and I’m also really interested in architecture; I aspire to be an architect who focuses on blending sustainability and aesthetics. I also love to swim and used to be a competitive swimmer; my favorite stroke is butterfly.

Fun fact: My favorite art piece, Misr Memories, is an acrylic painting I created of a famous mosque in Egypt called Ibn Tulun. It reminds me not only of my faith—represented by the historical mosque and the cloud-like Arabic calligraphy I added—but also of the cherished memories I have from visiting Egypt with my six cousins, uncle, and my grandparents.

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: By the end of my student government term, I hope to create more opportunities for students to share their talents and to help others explore different art forms.

Theresa Nakagome ‘28 - Board Chair of Student Academic Support and Services

Hello! I’m Theresa Nakagome, a full-time sophomore, and I am your Board Chair of Student Academic Support & Services. In my free time, I enjoy reading, drawing, creating art, crocheting, walking around the city, and learning new languages! I am most interested in learning about the law and Latin, as well as the Classics in general.

Fun Fact: Something I have been continuing to do since middle school is volunteering to teach younger kids!

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: As your Board Chair of SASS, my focus is to lead the board in supporting the student body both inside and outside the classroom. Having transitioned between several very different schools, I understand the importance of resources that help students acclimate to different environments. That being said, one of my main goals is to guide SASS in providing resources for students–old and new–as they navigate SOHS exam seasons, manage our rigorous course load, and become future college students. By offering essential resources and support, I believe that we can help each other thrive during this crucial phase of our journey!

Leonid Vishnevskiy ‘26 - Board Chair of Club Relations

Hey everyone! I'm a senior in Pennsylvania, and this is my fourth year at OHS. I love running, and my favorite subject is physics. However, I'm also interested in design.

Fun Fact: I love trains! :)

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: I'm excited to lead the board this year! The main goal by the end of the year is to raise club activity, primarily by making clubs more accessible (meaning things like a Google Calendar, up-to-date Canvas pages, etc.)

Nia Vasquez ‘27 - Board Chair of Mental Health

Hi! I'm Nia, I'm in 11th grade, and I live in the Pacific Northwest! I love reading and writing horror, wearing high heels, and going to museums! Feel free to contact me on pronto if you have anything to say related to BOMH or just want to chat :)

Fun Fact: .....I might be a bit obsessed with Oscar Wilde

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: I would love for at least one student to feel happier at OHS because of the changes I've made.

Lilian Guo - Middle School Class President

Hi everyone! I’m Lilian Guo, a 7th grader from sunny Southern California. I’m passionate about debate and love playing the piano. Just wanted to say - you’re all incredible! Keep pushing forward and stay awesome at OHS!

Fun Fact: I have a five year old corgi that usually attends classes with me!
Something you hope to do/achieve by the end of your SG term: By the end of my student government term, I want to help create a space where people feel comfortable sharing their feelings. Ivy and I plan to use our idea of “Support Circles” to encourage open conversation and sharing of ideas.

Ivy Song - Middle School Class Vice President

Hello! I’m Ivy and I’m in 7th grade. I live in Southern California near Los Angeles. I play tennis and piano.

Fun Fact: I learned Chinese before I learned English!

Something you hope to do/achieve by the end of your SG term: Honestly, I just want to make OHS a better place for everyone!

Greyson Wyler ‘29 - Freshman Class President

Hey there - I’m a full-time student from Nashville, Tennessee. I’m into computer science, photography, cubing, and farming.

Fun fact: I live on a farm with a single cow - Milkyway.
Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: I hope to build a Constitution with our class that represents co29 throughout the next four years.

Alex Dai ‘29 - Freshman Class Vice President

I am currently living in Japan, and have been since I moved here in 2016! I play tennis casually, and do quite a lot related to arts & music in my free time.

Fun Fact: I’ve learnt 6 languages but can only speak 3 of them well... I start some things I don’t finish :)

Something you hope to achieve by the end of your SG term: I want to improve opportunities to participate in community events for Asia/Oceania Students!

Torah Hughes ‘28 - Sophomore Class President

Karina Solodova ‘28 - Sophomore Class Vice President

Hi! I’m Karina, otherwise known as Sasha. I live in Boston, MA and I lived in Latvia for some time. My hobbies include: drawing, dancing, scrapbooking, and crochet. I love English and biology in school, and learning foreign languages (and sending reels in said languages to people who do not speak those languages.)

Fun Fact: I love books told through a dual lens/dual perspective.
Something you hope to do/achieve by the end of your SG term: I hope to bring Co28 a bit of joy in a tumultuous year (literally half of our classes.) I want our year to be happier in OHS and to feel less bored at home.

Chelsea Smith ‘27 - Junior Class Vice President

Sophia Horobetz ‘27 - Junior Class President

Mathias Gomez ‘26 - Senior Class President

Hi, I'm Mathias! I'm a full-time OHS student from California, Bay Area, and I have been a part of OHS since 9th grade. Outside of school, I am a pre-professional violinist (planning to major in violin performance and music education at conservatory), a casual pianist, ballet dancer, and of course, a huge Star Wars fan! You will find me at home reading with my cats, performing my violin, or playing/painting Warhammer 40k!

Fun Fact: I’m left handed - only 10% of the world are lefties!

Something you hope to do/achieve by the end of your SG term: My goal as senior class president is to ensure that Co26 has the best possible end to our time at OHS! And for the Seniors to win spirit week both times this year - let’s break tradition, Seniors!
