Letter from the Editor

Dear Reader,

The phrase “time flies” seems to be a perfect summarization of the past few months. Although it may seem surreal that we are already halfway through the school year (summer break is slowly creeping up on us!), I hope that everyone is having a great start to 2024. Especially for my fellow seniors, congratulations on finishing your college applications!

I hope that for us all, this new semester, and new year, represents not only a new beginning, but also an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the many things we have accomplished thus far. While things may seem uncertain now, just remember that the uncertainty in the coming months bring with it a chance for discovery.

In this month’s issue of the Pixel Journal, we definitely have a lot going on. In our Culture column, read about the Monterey fall meetup, student opinions on this school year’s longer winter break, and a preview of the fun to come at Pixel Festival. We’ve also featured two clubs: the Ethics Bowl as well as the Yearbook. Finally, read about how you can rethink empathy, caring, and hope as you listen along to our specially curated January playlist. Hope you enjoy reading!

Yours,

April
