Letter from the Editor

Dear Reader,

Aren’t you excited for the holidays? While contemplating the contents of my letter on this issue, I was swept away by yearning: family board games, mac-n-cheese (yum!), apple cider, decorating our Christmas tree. Rather than fighting my desire, I brought the same approach to my vision of OHS. So, in full holiday spirit, here’s a junctioned list of the things I’m grateful for from OHS:

  1. Community. Where else can you bond over resizing slides on Adobe connect?

  2. Initiative. Whether it be painstakingly waking up for the 8am classes, or planning for hours to hang out with friends, the necessity for initiative has brought even more intention behind my actions.

  3. Freedom. Planning courses and schedules is often something we take for granted, but it’s allowed me to carve days that are uniquely mine.

Before I knew it, our brainstorming session for this issue was also full of talks about the holidays, then gratitude in general. In this issue, we peek into what OHSers have done for Thanksgiving. Looking ahead, we also discuss Pronto’s winter break shutdown—including opinions, adaptive strategies, and more. In terms of clubs, we return to OHS’s annual Science Bowl Tournament, showing the hard work and thoughtful planning behind the scenes. Lastly, we take a look at OHS’s fashion trends!

Be excited to read about these articles, and even more excited to end the year strong! Best of luck with finals!

Warmly,

Rachael
