Introduction to the 2026-2027 Editorial Board
Meet our new editorial board for the 2026-2027 school year!
Hafsah Muzaffer ‘27, Assistant Editor-in-Chief
Hi there! I'm Hafsah, a full-time senior based in Kashmir, India. This is my second year at OHS, and my second year as part of the Pixel Journal -- I'm very excited to serve as Assistant Editor-in-Chief this year!
My academic interests range widely, but I'm particularly interested in studying intelligent systems -- the human-made and natural -- through both a STEM and humanities lens. In my free time, I enjoy reading, learning new languages, exploring nature (that translates to treks in the summers and skiing in the winters) and participating in ed-tech community service.
The Pixel Journal was one of the first clubs I participated in after joining OHS, and I found community and a place to contribute to the school community, which has been very fulfilling. I'm excited to work with the rest of the leadership team this year to make the experience even better for our writers, editors and audience.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, suggestions or ideas! My email is hafsah@ohs.stanford.edu and you can also find me on Pronto :)
Ellie Shen ‘27, Stories Editor
Hi everyone! I’m Ellie, a senior at OHS. I’ve been at OHS for six years and writing for the Pixel Journal for four, so I’m super excited to be your Stories Editor this year! Academically, I’m really passionate about environmental science and chemistry. Outside of school, you can usually find me hiking, drawing, or hanging out with my pet bird, Pico, and my turtle, Rocky.
Riley Xie ‘30, Stories Editor
Hello!
My name is Riley and I will be one of the Stories Editors this year.
I'm a freshman in my second year at both OHS and the Pixel Journal. I co-lead the Creative Writing Society, write for the OHS Observer, copy-edit for the Chrysalis, and run a dog-walking fundraiser in my neighborhood! Outside of school, I can usually be found reading science textbooks and fiction, writing, or on a walk with my dog Judy.
It's my first year on the Editorial Board, and I'm so excited to read and work with this year's amazing submissions :)
Harper Bruner ‘27, Community Engagement Lead
Hello! My name is Harper Bruner, and I am a full-time senior at Stanford OHS and this is my second year as the Community Engagement Editor for the Pixel Journal. As the Community Engagement Editor, it is my job to manage the publication’s social media presence by overseeing the Pixel Journal’s Instagram page. I curate monthly Spotify playlists to engage readers through multimedia content. In addition, I take leadership in organizing external events, including contests and partnerships with the Student Government. In this role, I oversee the production of graphics for Instagram, Spotify playlists, and articles. I am also a competitive tennis player and in my spare time enjoy reading, watching documentaries, and doing advocacy work.
